Julie's career started with a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Pyschology and Zoology from the Australian National University. Julie's corporate years were spent in woman's crisis services, community legal centres and the ACT Human Rights Commission. Julie's expertise lies in being a meditator, conciliator, and Lewis Deep Democracy facilitator.

Julie has had a lifelong passion of dogs since childhood. Julie got her first dog at the age at of 13 which started her dog training career. In 2018 Julie become a member of the ACT Companion Dog Club and became certified as a Behaviour Training Instructor with the Club in 2019. Julie's commitment to excellence and continuous education led her to graduate with Distinction from the prestigious Karen Pryor Academy (KPA). She also completed the Puppy Start Right for Instructors program with KPA.

Julie founded and launched Puppy Talk in August 2024. Julie utilises the ACT Companion Dog Club indoor facilities in Symonston, ACT to run her puppy training classes. Julie's classes are unique. Classes are small with a maximum of 4 puppies with their owners. Julie cleans and sanitises the space for each class. Puppies are contained and separated, with supervised puppy interaction, exploration and play.

With her wealth of expertise, experience, and dedication to positive, science-based training methods, Julie is devoted to helping dog owners nurture strong, positive relationships with their pets while fostering mutual understanding and respect.

Julie dedicates herself to assisting owners in understanding and effectively communicating with their canine companions. Her primary training focus is working with puppies, recognising this crucial stage of a dog's life and their relationship with their family.
